Invitation to Encounter
In the book of Revelation, Christ introduces Himself to each church with a unique image that reveals who He is for them in their moment. These characteristics are also living realities of who He is for us today.
This week, as we reflect on Christ’s words to Ephesus, we see Him as the One who holds the stars and walks among the lampstands.
Invitation to Practice
Don’t just skim this meditation. Read it slowly. Read it out loud. Pause where a phrase catches your attention. Let it be your prayer to Christ.
Invitation to Connect
As you pray this meditation, imagine Christ sitting with you. What would He say in response to you? Let His light search your heart, rekindle your love, and remind you that you are not alone. He is with and for you.
Meditative Prayer
“I am the One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, the One who walks among the seven golden lampstands.” - Revelation 2:1
You are the light of the world.
Precious sight, fill the skies and fields with Truth.
Just as a city set on a hill cannot be hidden,
make me shine, that in every good work,
people are flooded with the miraculous love of God.
I believe in You. I believe in the One who sent You.
I see You, Father of Lights.
Everyone who believes in You
will not remain in darkness.
You hold the stars, the unending universe.
All authority in heaven’s invisible realm belongs to You.
Every guiding insight, every winged messenger.
The stars can’t help but sing Your praises.
You direct the compass of my soul
and walk among the light of my friendships.
You are my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
I surrender every worry at Your feet.
You cover me in a sea of diamond rainbows.
I cannot burn on my own.
You know me. You tend to my lamp.
Your Spirit keeps me burning, oil that fills my cup.
Stir up adoration. Let me melt like gold in Your unfailing love.
In You I live, move, and have my being.
Nothing can separate us;
I am Your dwelling place.
You carefully watch over me in righteousness.
You keep me holy.
No empire shines brighter. No kingdom compares in glory.
You draw all people into Your presence.
No one is missing. No one lacks an encounter with Your beauty.
Your light opens my eyes, and I will declare:
“Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.”
