Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-based approach to recovery that was a response to twelve-step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous. It was founded in 1990 by Pastors John Baker and Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, and is aimed at all “hurts, habits, and hang-ups”, including but not limited to drug and alcohol addictions, sex addiction, eating disorders, and people who have been sexually abused. The founders felt that Alcoholics Anonymous was too vague in referring to God as a “higher power,” and wanted a more specifically Christ-based program. Celebrate Recovery utilizes eight Recovery Principles that are based on the Sermon on the Mount.
Do you have a hurt in your life that’s robbing you of peace? Or, a habit that is crippling your life and relationships? You aren’t alone. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery ministry held at Hope Church every Monday evening. This ministry celebrates God’s power and comfort in our lives by providing tools to help individuals discover serenity and healing through Jesus Christ.
Life hurts. But God heals. Discover how.
Celebrate Recovery provides separate groups for men and women that are safe and confidential. These groups are designed to equip individuals with the tools to cope with many different life issues—including anger, alcohol or drug dependency, food struggles, grief, controlling behaviors, family members with addiction issues, victims of abuse, those seeking sexual purity, and other issues.
Come join us on Mondays starting at 6:00 pm for a meal. Praise and worship and classes will begin following the meal.
